Title:
SLIDING MEMBER AND DISK VALVE USING IT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08178090
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To maintain a smooth and stable sliding characteristic over a long period by applying an amorphous hard carbon film having multiple spherical projections on the surface of a substrate such as a valve element constituting a disk valve to form a sliding face.

CONSTITUTION: The moving valve element 20 and fixed valve element 30 of a faucet valve are brought into contact via sliding faces 21, 31. When the moving valve element 20 is moved by an operation lever 45, fluid passages 24, 34 provided on the valve elements 20, 30 are opened or closed, and a feed fluid is opened, closed, or adjusted. An amorphous hard carbon film 13 having multiple spherical projections is applied on the surface of the substrate 32 made of a metal or a ceramic of the fixed valve element 30 to form the sliding face 31. The moving valve element 20 is made of a metal excellent in abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance or a ceramic such as alumina or zirconia having the Vickers hardness of 1000kg/mm2 or above.
