To provide a sliding member of a low friction coefficient for enhancing adhesion between a hard carbon coating film and the sliding member, and to provide a highly reliably and high efficiency hermetic compressor.
A Ti coating film 128 is formed on a surface of a base material composed of a metallic material, and an amorphous hard carbon coating film 127 having the hydrogen content of 0 atom% is also formed on an upper layer of the Ti coating film 128, so that the adhesion is enhanced by the Ti coating film 128 having high bonding power with the metallic material and the amorphous hard carbon coating film 127. Since a friction coefficient can be reduced by increasing density of a diamond component and a graphite component in the amorphous hard carbon coating film 127 by setting the hydrogen content to 0 atom%, the highly reliable and high efficiency sliding member can be constituted.
