To provide a sliding member with a coated film capable of controlling an abrasion coefficient on a sufficiently low level by supplying a sufficient lubricating oil to a sliding surface to form a good oil film and a method for producing the sliding member capable of forming the coated film in a short period of time.

This sliding member has the coated film composed of a resin composition for sliding on the sliding surface, in which the coated film has a plurality of open pores on its surface. The total open area of the pores is 10-85% based on the surface area of the coated film. The pore is formed by quickly heating the coated resin composition for sliding, to bump a solvent.
