Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a sliding material suitable as guide roller for traveling magnetic tapes such as VTR or 8mm video tape recorder, having excellent frictional and wear characteristics, not making a sound in sliding by blending polyacetal resin with a specific amount of a specific fatty acid ester. CONSTITUTION:Polyacetal resin is blended with 0.05-10wt.%, preferably 0.5-5wt.% fatty acid ester between >=21C fatty acid (e.g. behenic acid or cerotic acid) and a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. glycerin or ethylene glycol). Polyethylene glycol dibehenate, glycerin monoerucate, etc., may be cited as the preferably fatty acid ester.
