Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member having a hard Cr plated layer which can keep adequate seizure resistance and wear resistance even when wear of the sliding surface progresses.
SOLUTION: The sliding member has the hard Cr plated layer 2 formed in the internal circumferential surface of a cylinder liner 1. Inside of the hard Cr plated layer 2, fine cavities 5 are formed in such distribution that each cavity is independent in the thickness direction.
