Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member which has high corrosion and abrasion resistance and has low attack performance to a mating material by combining a first sliding member in which a composite plating layer having C particles scattered thereon is formed on a base material and a second sliding member in which a Cr coating is formed on the base material.
SOLUTION: A first sliding member 1, for example, such as a cylinder liner or a cylinder bore in which a composite plating layer 1a having C particles scattered thereon is formed on the surface of a base material surface and a second sliding member 2, for example, a piston ring, in which a Cr coating 2a is formed on the base material surface are combined with each other. Among the plating base materials for the composite plating layer 1a are, for example, Ni-P group, Cr group, Sn group, and Fe group, amongst all Ni-P group is especially preferable. This constitution can reduce the friction coefficient between the sliding members without impairing the superior corrosion and abrasion resistance of the Ni-P group plating material of the composite plating layer 1a and reduce the attack performance to the second sliding member 2.
