Title:
SLIDING MEMBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60125362
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the wear resistance of the sliding surface of a sliding member by plasma-spraying Ni-Cr alloy powder having a specified composition or a powdery mixture of the Ni-Cr alloy powder with Mo powder on the sliding surface.
CONSTITUTION: Alloy powder having a composition consisting of 78W82% Ni and 18W22% Cr is plasma-sprayed on the sliding surface of a piston ring, a cylinder liner, a piston or the like for an engine. A powdery mixture of 95W30% said Ni-Cr alloy powder with 5W70% Mo powder may be plasma-sprayed. The wear and seizing resistances of the sliding member itself are improved, and the wear of a material along which the sliding member slides can be reduced.
