Abstract:
To provide high abrasion-resistant and inexpensive sliding members for fuel injection pumps.
Simplification of manufacturing process as well as enhancement of abrasion resistance of sliding materials is achieved by constructing the sliding members (e.g. governor weight 5) from iron base sintered materials which contain hard particles in 3 wt.% to 11 wt.% having mean particle size of 170 μm or less and Vickers hardness of 1000 HV or over, without the need for hard chrome plating treatment. In addition, detachment of hard particles caused by sliding is prevented by the use of ferrochrome particles as hard particles of 1000 HV or over.
