To provide a sliding table driving device for setting the slide length of a sliding table to be several times the elongation length of a piston rod for a fluid pressure cylinder, sufficiently assuring the slide length of the siding table even for the fluid pressure cylinder having a short length and permitting the high-speed slide of the sliding table.

The piston rod 5 for a pneumatic cylinder 4 and the sliding table 1 sliding along a guide rail 3 are connected via a lazy tong mechanism 8. A pair of links 9, 10 at one end of the lazy tong mechanism 8, pivotally supported at their piston connections 11 on the piston rod 5, have the free ends guided by a fixed guide groove 14 provided in position, and a pair of links 9, 10 at the other end of the lazy tong mechanism 8 have the free ends guided by a movable guide groove 17 provided in the sliding table 1.
