Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retention mechanism which can possess a sufficient retention force for surely preventing the slide-over of an internal component.SOLUTION: A slide-type constant velocity universal joint comprises a cup-shaped outside joint member 11 having an opening part 14 at one side, and a tripod member 12 for transmitting torque while permitting angular displacement between the outside joint member 11 and itself via a roller 13. An internal component 19 composed of the roller 13 and the tripod member 12 is slidably accommodated in the outside joint member 11 in an axial direction. A retention part 37 for regulating a displacement amount of the internal component 19 in the axial direction is welded to an opening end face 36 of the outside joint member 11 by electric resistance welding.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
