Title:
SLIP-CAST MONOLITHIC REFRACTORY CONTAINING GRAPHITE WHICH FORMS CARBON BOND
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005089247
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a slip-cast monolithic refractory containing graphite, which is used as a monolithic slip-cast material in the iron and steel industry and excellent in a corrosion resistance and a spalling resistance.

In order to form carbon bond so as to prevent an isolation of graphite at a high temperature, pitch having a softening point of 110-250°C and a temperature difference from the softening point to a temperature where a volatile component starts to volatilize of ≤90°C is contained as a carbon bond source with high affinity to graphite. By mixing the carbon bond source with high affinity to graphite, the carbon bond which prevents the isolation of graphite at a high temperature is formed and by containing the pitch having a softening point of 110-250°C, the carbon bond effect is emerged after a heat treatment. High strength and low elastic modulus are achieved by these effects. By using the pitch having a temperature difference from the softening point to the temperature where a volatile component starts to volatilize of ≤90°C, timing balance of the viscosity change after softening of the pitch and the volatilization of the volatile component is improved and the high strength and the low elastic modulus are maintained. Resultingly, a product excellent in a corrosion resistance and a spalling resistance is obtained.
