Abstract:
PURPOSE:To solve a problem on a shortage of lubrication, by installing an opening changing device, which reduces opening according to an increase in torque converter rotational frequency, in the point midway in an interconnecting passage ranging from a converter chamber to a lockup control chamber via a variable orifice. CONSTITUTION:Each of opening changing devices 27 and 28, which reduces opening according to an increase of torque converter rotational frequency, is installed in the point midway in an interconnecting passage ranging from a converter chamber 17 to a lockup control chamber 18 via a veriable orifice 19. With this constitution, at a lockup region, a fear of producing residual pressure in the lockup control chamber 18 or of producing any drop of pressure inside the converter chamber is no longer entailed there so that a pressure differential between these chambers 18 and 17 is made larger so ample enough and a torque converter 1 can be made into a lockup state as specified so that a lubricating oil quantity for a shift gear train is sufficiently securable even in the lockup rigion.
