Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain accurate slip control by employing a fixed orifice whose flow-rate varies in accordance with the variation in the working oil temperature so that the flow-rate decreases when the working oil temperature is low while it increases when the temperature is high. CONSTITUTION:When the pressure in a lock-up control chamber 18 is removed via a fixed orifice 26, a lock-up clutch 16 is fastened by the pressure in a converter chamber 17 and operates under a slip state. this fixed orifice 26 is a choke orifice whose flow passage length is large in comparison with the flow- passage cross-sectional-area. The flow rate characteristics of the working oil of this orifice 26 is varied in accordance with the oil temperature, and the flow rate is increased as the oil temperature rises, even when the fore-and-aft differential pressure is the same. Accordingly,pressure PL in the lock-up control chamber 18 is determined by the opening of a variable flow-rate orifice 19, and the lock-up clutch 16 conducts the power transmission while it is sliding. Therefore, accurate slip control can be performed also for a high temperature.
