To provide a slip ring preventing degradation of insulation resistance between electrode rings by removing wear powder and capable of monitoring a generation volume of the wear powder by a human.
The slip ring includes an external cylinder, an electrode ring part 4 arranged inside the external cylinder, comprising a plurality of steps of electrode rings 12, 13 each arranged in lamination in an axis direction of the external cylinder through the insulation body 14 and rotationally driven around its axis, a conductive brush 5 retained in pressure contact to the electrode ring part 4, and suction ports 6, 9 in the vicinity of a peripheral part of a body of the electrode ring part 4, as well as a wear powder suction removal means for suctioning the wear powder generated by sliding between the brush 5 and the electrode ring part 4 from the suction ports 6, 9 to remove the powder. The wear powder suction removal means carries out suctioning action when the electrode ring part 4 starts rotating.
