To provide a slit forming method on a honeycomb molding which can improve processing speed.
In the slit forming method on the honeycomb molding, the slit is formed at a honeycomb molding 15 as follows. An end 2 of slit forming member 1 is made to contact with one end face 12 of the honeycomb molding by vibration, and the slit forming member 1 is moved toward the other end face 12 of the honeycomb molding 15 so that a wall 14 of the honeycomb molding 15 may be cut provided that the slit forming member 1 is long in one direction, becomes gradually thin as the end 2 approaches a tip 3, and the outside of the tip 3 forms a protruded angular part with an angle θ of 90-170° at the tip 3, and that the honeycomb molding 15 has the wall 14 partitioning a plurality of cells 13 which form a channel for fluid and extends from one end face 11 to the other end face 12.
