PURPOSE: To improve the quality of a wound-up sheet roll by providing a slitter winder adapted to divide a belt-like sheet and wind up same with touch rollers and support frames for the rollers, driving mechanisms and fine speed change mechanisms for the touch rollers, and sheet tension detection means.

CONSTITUTION: A belt-like sheet S fed out from an original roll is divided into narrow sheets by a slitter blade K, distributed to the right and left to be wound up on winding cores C as a narrow sheet roll R through detection rollers 1 and touch rollers 2. The winding core C is supported on the forward end of a winding shaft support A, and driven by a driving mechanism T through a belt 3. The contact pressure between the respective touch rollers 2 and sheet rolls R can be controlled individually by hydraulic cylinders 7. The tension of the narrow sheet 1 passing through the detection rollers 1 is detected by load detectors 9. A driving motor M is adapted to rotate let-out rollers 10, 11, 12, and drive common driving shafts 14 piercing through support frames through fine speed change mechanisms 13. The drive of the shafts 14 is transmitted to the rollers 2 through transmission mechanisms 15.
