The sludge dryer has a sludge mounting part 11 mounting and drying sludge, a sludge supply means 12 supplying sludge to the sludge mounting part 11, an air blowing means 14 blowing air in a drying chamber 10, and a sludge discharge means 15 receiving the dried sludge from the sludge mounting part 11 and conveying it outside the drying chamber, in the drying chamber 10 made so as to allow the penetration of sunlight. The air blowing means 14 blows air parallel to the sludge mounting surface 11a of the sludge mounting part 11.
