Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to detect the floating of sludge by detecting the boundary between a sludge phase and a supernatant liquid phase in accordance with the shape information and number information of the granular sludge outputted by an image processing means and deciding the floating of the sludge in accordance with the change rate of the boundary with lapse of time.
SOLUTION: A CCD camera 4 and a light projector 5 are hung via a suspending member 7 at a lifting device 6 disposed in the upper part of a vessel 1. The lifting device 6 is capable of changing the vertical positions of the camera 4 and the light projector 5 in the water and outputting the depth information by detecting the depth thereof. If the sludge arrives at the point where the number of the sludge is smaller than the prescribed number, the sludge boundary is decided to exist between the point and the uppermost point where the number of the sludge is above the prescribed number by a boundary deciding circuit 9 in an image processing circuit 8. A signal is then outputted by deciding the intermediate level as a sludge boundary position. The detected sludge boundary level is checked with lapse of time and the floatability of the sludge is decided to be high when the fluctuation rate of the sludge boundary exceeds a prescribed value.
