To provide a small motor with brush in which space factor of the winding coil of an armature can be ensured sufficiently while realizing high torque and flattening (miniaturization) by improving the mounting structure of an overvoltage suppressing element.
The small motor with brush comprises an armature core 3 supported on the motor shaft 1 and having a winding coil 2 at the salient pole 3a, a commutator 14 supported on the shaft 1 contiguously to one side in the axial direction of the armature core 3 and connected electrically with the coil 2, and a brush piece 6 supported on the motor case 5 side and sliding on the commutator 14. A varistor 19 is supported on the shaft 1 and arranged on the other side of the armature core 3 in the axial direction. A commutator segment S constituting the commutator 14 is provided integrally with an axial terminal S3 having a portion passing the armature core 3 in the thickness direction while being insulated electrically therefrom and extending to the other side of the armature core 3 in the axial direction. That portion is bent in the direction receding from the shaft 1 and then the brush sliding portion S1 and the varistor 19 are connected conductively.
