PURPOSE: To provide an equipment in which a display part is made as thin as possible and bright lighting effect can be obtained, also its weight becomes light when lighting is not required at outdoor and the like, with respect to a small size equipment using a liquid crystal device.

CONSTITUTION: A light guiding panel 7 which is not so thick and having optimum thickness is arranged behind a transmission type liquid crystal display material 6, a side plane for guiding illumination light is projected to a side plane of a device case 1 of a electronic equipment main frame, a light source case 16 which stores a light source lamp such as a cold cathode fluorescent tube can be fitted and fixed to the device case 1 by sliding it along a guide rail. Therefore, since a light source is not arranged behind a liquid crystal display body, a display part can be thinly constituted, and since the guiding light panel having somewhat thickness is used, guiding efficiency of illumination light is high, so bright illumination can be obtained. Further, since the light source case 16 (if its power source is included, it is further effective.) can be removed, weight of whole electronic apparatus can be decreased.
