PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized electric furnace in which an object to heat is prevented from being contaminated by evaporated ingredients and consumption of an electrode and a lead wire by evaporation is suppressed.
SOLUTION: This electric furnace is equipped with a heating unit 1 in which both ends of hollow conductive ceramics with openings at its both ends are made as terminal parts 1a and a space between the terminal parts 1a is made as a heating part 1d, a heat insulating unit 2 wrapping the periphery of the heating unit 1 and a furnace core tube 3 mounted in the hollow part of the heating unit 1, and while making the inside of the hollow part in the furnace core tube 3 an effective heating compartment, a notch 4, which pierces from the hollow part to the outside throughout a whole length in an axis direction of the furnace core tube 3, the heating unit 1 and the heat insulating unit 2, is formed. In this case, a flange 3a is provided in the notch part of the furnace core tube 3, and a heat resistant shielding plate 5 is fixed to the periphery of the both ends of the furnace core tube 3.
