CONSTITUTION: In a lens system consisting, successively from object side, of a positive meniscus lens, a biconvex lens, a biconcave lens, a positive lens, a positive meniscus lens, and a negative meniscus lens, wherein the 2nd the 3rd lenses are combined, and the face of the 6th lens of the object side is an aspherical face, the relations of given X, Y where the advance direction of light on the optical axis is defined as X and the direction perpendicular to this as Y as well as the equations (1)W(5) are satisfied. Here, (f) is the focal length of the lens system, Ri, Di, Ni are the radisu of curvature of the lens face, lens thickness and air space, and the refractive index of the glass of the i-th lens and R is the radius of curvature at the paraxial vertex of the aspherical face. Thereby, the photographic lens of a small size and high performance is obtained.
