Abstract:
To provide a technology capable of effectively manufacturing high-quality ferronickel with less CO2 discharge while suppressing a smelting cost, in a method for reducing a mixture containing nickel oxide ore to manufacture ferronickel.SOLUTION: In a smelting method of nickel oxide ore, a mixture of nickel oxide ore, which is raw material ore is reduced to manufacture ferronickel. A massive mixture obtained by mixing nickel oxide ore and a carbonaceous reducing agent is introduced to a reduction furnace of an electric heating type using electricity as a heat source and heated to a predetermined reduction temperature in the reduction furnace for reduction treatment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
