Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce molten iron in excellent productivity without any erosion of lining refractory by using MgO-C type refractory as the lining refractory in a furnace and also holding temp. of the molten iron to the specific range at the time of continuously refining the molten iron from iron oxide and carbonic material as raw material in an iron bath type smelting reduction furnace while blowing oxygen into it.

CONSTITUTION: Under condition of existing the molten iron 4 and molten slag 5 on the molten iron in the converter type reaction vessel 1 providing bottom blowing tuyeres 2 and oxygen top blowing lance 3, inert gas of N2, etc., O2 gas and powdery iron oxide are blown from the bottom tuyeres 2 and also the iron oxide and the carbonic material as reducing agent are charged from furnace top part and O2 gas is blown on the surface of the molten slag 5 from the top blowing lance 3, and the iron oxide is reduced with the carbonic material to produce the molten iron of molten pig, etc. In this case, by holding the temp. of the molten iron 4 to the range of 1350W1450°C and also using the MgO-C series refractory to the lining refractory of the furnace 1, the molten iron is continuously produced under excellent productivity without any erosion of the lining refractory.
