Abstract:

To provide a smoothing agent for a powder coating, imparting smoothness by adding it to a powder coating paying attention on its finishing, suppressing the occurrence of coating failures such as cissing and craters, and contributing toward improving the appearance of powder coating.

A copolymer obtained by introducing trimethylsilyl groups at a ratio of 2-65 wt.% into a copolymer which has been used conventionally as a smoothing agent for a powder coating. That copolymer having a number average molecular weight of 1,000 to 60,000 is used as the smoothing agent.
