Title:
SMOOTHING ROLL MATTING TREATMENT METHOD AND SMOOTHING ROLL OBTAINED BY THIS TREATMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3642126
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharpen the edge parts of cut-in parts so as to improve grinding efficiency and thereby to obtain powder of fine quality by feeding abrasive grains of different grain sizes successively between a pair of rolls rotated in reverse directions.
SOLUTION: Matting treatment is applied by feeding green silicon carbide 3 between a pair of rolls rotated in different directions, uniformly in regular order over the whole roll surface 5 through a feed roll 2. No.60 green silicon carbide 3 is then fed from the feed roll 2 to the roll 1B with micro cut-in parts 4B formed over the whole surface. The green silicon carbide 3 cuts deep and sharply into the roll surface 5B so as to form the roll surface 5C with micro cut-in parts 4B, and cut-in parts 4C of sharp and uniform depth at angular parts 6C. Coarse grains are sharply ground without generating flakes by the sharp angular parts 6C formed of the cut-in parts 4C ground to nearly constant depth.
