Title:
SNOW DAMAGE ALLEVIATING METHOD AND SNOW HOOD CLIPPING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3496147
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snow damage alleviating method which alleviates damage caused by collapse of enlarged snow hoods 2a, 2b being formed by sliding of snow accumulated on a roof in a roof sloping direction (indicated by an arrow S), and overhanging from eaves 1 of the roof, and to provide a snow hood clipping apparatus.
SOLUTION: Before huge quantities of snow hoods overhang to form large snow hoods, i.e., when a sliding distance of snow accumulation detected by a sliding distance sensor 3 reaches a predetermined dimension value (e.g. 10 cm), a saw 7 is moved along the eaves 1 while being vertically operated, to thereby clip the snow hood 2b which has not been sufficiently enlarged in the vicinity of its root portion (at a location that makes contact with the eaves 1). The small snow hood having been clipped falls due to its weight, which, however, does not inflict large damage. In this manner, the above operations are repeatedly carried out. The movement of the saw 7 is achieved by transporting a traveling body 6 supported by wheels along rails 4a, 4b.
