Title:
SNOWBOARD BINDING APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2007061608
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a binding or boot strap that allows a snowboard rider to easily, rapidly and effectively tighten or loosen the strap around his/her boot.

The strap includes a boot-engaging strap that engages with an engagement strap engaging to the boot or binding. An arrangement for facilitating tightening/loosening two strap pieces is also provided so that a rider can put his/her foot in and take out of the boot, or to fasten the boot to or loosen it from the snowboard binding. The arrangement includes a tightening element and the rider can tighten the strap by pulling the tightening element and by moving the strap piece. The tightening element has a mechanical advantage by which a force applied to the tightening element results in a greater force applied to the strap. After fastening strap, a retraction device is used to take up an excessive part of the tightening element. A hook and a catch arrangement are used to separate the strap from the boots or the binding.
