PURPOSE: To provide a soap molding device capable of producing cakes of soap having a beautiful band portion by high-speed stable continuous operation.
CONSTITUTION: A principal mold 2 is provided with a movable mold 4 capable of withdrawal from and insertion into the molding hole 3 thereof via an aperture on one side thereof and a movable mold 5 capable of withdrawal from and insertion into the molding hole 3 via another aperture on the other side thereof. Soap is molded by stamping with the inner peripheral surface of the molding hole 3 and the stamping surfaces 4a and 5a of the two movable molds 4 and 5. In separating the two movable molds 4 and 5 from a stamping-molded cake of soap, the power necessary for releasing the cake of soap from the one movable mold 5 is set larger than the power necessary for releasing the cake of soap from the other movable mold 4. In order to enable the cake of soap to be prevented from following the movement of the one movable mold 5 in the direction of separating from the cake of soap, at least part of the inner peripheral surface of the molding hole 3 is in the form of a tapered surface 3a inclined as against the direction of movement of the movable molds 4 and 5.
