PURPOSE: To provide a socket for a fluorescent lamp producing no contact failure when the fluorescent lamp is removed.

CONSTITUTION: A socket for a fluorescent lamp has a socket case main body 1, a conductive piece 9 attached to the inside of the socket case main body 1, a supporting body 5 for supporting the conductive piece 9 and a cover 11. A projection 8 is formed in part of a conductive piece fitting part of the supporting body 5, and when the fluorescent lamp is removed from the socket, contact pressure between an electric wire contact part of the conductive piece and an electric wire is not reduced, and when the fluorescent lamp is replaced, coming off of a lead wire from the socket does not occur, and contact pressure between the contact part of the conductive piece and a lamp pin of the fluorescent lamp is kept constant.
