Title:
SODIUM-SULFUR SECONDARY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62274566
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase the life by forming a solid electrolyte by molding a mixture of β-alumina orβ"-alumina power and glass mainly comprising sodium oxide and silica having the similar linear expansion coefficient to the alumina powder.

CONSTITUTION: A solid electrolyte is formed by molding a mixture of β-alumina or β"-alumina and glass mainly comprising sodium oxide and silica having the similar linear expansion coefficient to the alumina powder. The solid electrolyte has conductivity near β-orβ"-alumina's, and its proccesability is high and has strong resistance to sodium. Therefore, a sodium-sulfur secondary battery having a long life can be obtained.
