Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft decision Viterbi decoder capable of generating a suitably weighted metric value of a receiving signal having reliability when a transmission signal parameter is switched or when power level information of low reliability is continuously generated or the information is generated at high frequency by the influence of a multi-pass or the like.
SOLUTION: The soft decision Viterbi decoder for weighting multi-valued metric data by using receiving power level information detected at the time of demodulating an OFDM modulation type receiving signal is provided with: a power level limitation circuit 13 for limiting the receiving power level information up to a prescribed value; and a power level increase circuit 14 for increasing the receiving power level information limited by the circuit 13 at prescribed magnification, and the receiving power level information outputted from the circuit 14 is used for weighting.
