Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a composition having high temperature resistance, oil, solvent and chemical resistance, good aging characteristics and a product is hardened substantially at the room temperature by adding a mixture of magnetic particles of Sr and/or Ba ferrite into a binder system and hardening a molding through exposure to a high voltage electron beam. CONSTITUTION: The soft mixture composition having maximum energy product of 1.0MGsOe or above, remanence Br of about 2000Gs or above, coercive force of about 1800Oe or above and coercivity of about 2000Oe or above has a binder system added with magnetic particles of Sr and/or Ba ferrite and then it is molded and hardened by exposing to a high voltage electron beam. It can sustain about 20% of breaking elongation measured at 23 deg.C after being aged for 100 hours in high temperature air of 135 deg.C and can exhibit expansion less than about 5vol.% after immersion into ASTM #1 and #3 oil for 46 hours at 23 deg.C. It can be extrusion molded into a strip or calendered into a sheet which can sustain the shape before and after being hardened through exposure to a high voltage electron beam.
