To provide a soft member grasping device contributing to the reduction of man-hour and having versatility capable of responding to various kinds of instruments.
The soft member grasping device for a run channel 7 for an automobile in which a cross section mounted to a recession groove 9 of an automobile door sash 8 of a lengthy shape having a cross section of an approximately recessed shape has a groove of an approximately recessed shape, and is provided with a first grasping means 10 for grasping both corner parts of the run channel 7; a second grasping means 13 for grasping both ends of the run channel 7; an expandable/contractable slide means 15 for setting a distance of the second grasping means 13 and the first grasping means 10 to an optional degree; and a control means for controlling an expansion/contraction amount of the slide means 15 and performing grasping release action by the second grasping means 13 at a desired position.
