Title:
SOIL CHARACTER SAMPLER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010121391
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a soil character sampler which secures sufficient strength and is capable of gathering precise soil samples in an efficient manner.

The soil character sampler is inserted in a ground boring hole to gather soil samples. The soil character sampler includes a cylindrical outer pipe 12 and a cylindrical inner pipe 13 that is inserted in the outer pipe 12 to be rotated or inserted/removed freely. The outer pipe 12 has a vertically elongated soil gathering inlet 14 whose one vertically elongated opening edge serves as a scraper blade 14a scraping off the wall of the boring hole, and a stopper engaging slot 15 formed on the upper end of the other vertically elongated opening edge of the soil gathering inlet 14. The inner pipe 13 has a vertically elongated soil storage inlet 18 on its lower part, and a stopper 19 near the upper end of the soil storage inlet 18, the stopper 19 projecting from the soil gathering inlet 14. The soil storage inlet 18 is closed with the outer pipe 12 when the inner pipe 13 is at the position at which the stopper 19 engages with the stopper engaging slot 15, while communicates with the soil gathering inlet 14 to make an opening when the stopper 19 is positioned to be in contact with the scraper blade 14a of the soil gathering inlet 14.
