Title:
SOIL DECONTAMINATING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004321919
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a soil decontaminating method by which decomposition removal of volatile organic compounds or the like can be efficiently performed and further running cost of a treating apparatus can be greatly reduced.

The soil decontaminating method comprises an extraction process in which gas or liquid containing volatile organic chlorine compounds is extracted from contaminated soil, an ozone treatment process in which the extracted volatile organic chlorine compounds are decomposed by ozone, a hazardous material adsorbing process in which gas or liquid after the ozone treatment process is brought into contact with an adsorbent and a neutralizing process in which gas or liquid after the hazardous material adsorbing process is neutralized. In the soil decontaminating method, chlorine concentration of gas or liquid after the hazardous material adsorbing process is obtained and when the concentration is more than a predetermined value, ozone is continuously supplied and when the concentration is below the predetermined value, ozone is intermittently supplied.
