To provide a soil sampling apparatus which can collect soil samples in a depth direction, that are necessary at every predetermined work, without hindering execution of deep chemical mixing, by carrying out simple work with safety and without labor, and to provide a soil sampling method.
According to the structure of the soil sampling apparatus, a cylindrical sampling container 1 opening upward and downward, has a cover 2 arranged in a lower opening 1a thereof such that the cover is swayed upward in the sampling container 1 to open the lower opening 1a and swayed downward to block the lower opening 1a. Then the sampling container 1 is inserted into a hole S in which soil cement is generated, and then the container is stopped at a desired depth, followed by elevating the same. Before the sampling container 1 inserted into the hole S in which the soil cement is generated, is stopped at the desired depth, the soil cement is allowed to pass in the sampling container 1, and therefore the cover 2 maintains its open state. On the other hand when the sampling container 1 is elevated, the cover 2 is closed due to the load of the soil cement, and therefore the soil cement sample at the desired depth is trapped in the sampling container 1.
