To provide a soil sampling device for simply sampling only soil in a depth where the sampling is desired to be performed, and also for sampling by using a simple mechanism.
A cylinder 3 for sampling, which is externally mounted on a rod 2, relatively moves in the axial direction with respect to the rod 2. When a leading-end side of the rod 2 is positioned on the leading-end side of the cylinder 3, a leading-end opening 3a of the cylinder 3 is closed. When the leading-end side of the rod 2 is positioned on the base-end side of the cylinder 3, the leading-end opening 3a of the cylinder 3 is opened. The soil sampling device comprises a step part 5a for regulating the movement of the cylinder 3 in the base-end direction in a state where the leading-end side of the rod 2 is positioned on the leading-end side of the cylinder 3, and screw parts 2c and 3b for releasably regulating the movement of the cylinder 3 in both the base-end and leading-end directions of the rod 2 in the state where the leading-end side of the rod 2 is positioned on the base-end side of the cylinder 3.
