To provide a soil sampling device which enables a sampling pipe to be easily jacked into the ground and which enables soil sampling work to be surely performed with ease.
This soil sampling device 1 includes a drilling bit portion 3 capable of being rotated on a central axis line as the center of rotation by receiving a rotational driving force via a rod portion 5, a bit portion-side screw portion 6 which is provided on the leading end-side outer peripheral surface of the drilling bit portion, an outer pipe 4, and an outer pipe-side screw portion 7 which is provided on the inner peripheral surface of the outer pipe. The outer pipe is mounted on the leading end-side outer peripheral surface of the drilling bit portion by screw-engaging the outer pipe-side screw portion and the bit portion-side screw portion with each other. When soil sampling is performed, the drilling bit portion is rotated in one direction in the ground so that a leading end surface of the drilling bit portion can recedes to the inside of the outer pipe to bring about the setting of a soil sampling enabling state in which an inner space 15 of the outer pipe in a leading end opening, capable of housing the soil, is formed on the leading end side of the outer pipe; and the rod portion is pushed in the soil sampling enabling state, so that the soil can be taken into the inner space of the outer pipe.
