Abstract:
PURPOSE: To realize high-speed printing without impairing printing quality at monochromatic printing by simple structure.
CONSTITUTION: In four slots on a carriage 12, a distinguishing switch 52, which consists of a plurality of switches for respectively distinguishing the kind of a set printing head 13, is provided. The distinguishing switch 52 can engage with projections 51, which are formed on the respective printing heads 13. By judging which switch engages with the projection 51 with a CPU, the kind of the printing heads 13 set to the respective slots on the carriage 12 at present can be distinguished.
