PURPOSE: To eliminate operation errors in locking and unlocking by transmitting repeatedly a plurality of drive pulses to a solenoid electric lock from a control unit in a collective key control device which reads ID cards, unlocks and locks the door of a safekeeping box.
CONSTITUTION: A safekeeping unit (A) which collectively controls the keys of each tenant of a building or the like, comprises a plurality of safekeeping boxes (a), a card reader 1, a ten key, a display 2 (liquid crystal panel), a control unit 4 and a solenoid electric lock 5 or the like. The control unit 4 is designed to transmit repeatedly a plurality of drive pulses to the solenoid electric lock 5. The card reader 1 reads an ID card. When the registration is identified, a plurality of unlocking pulses are repeatedly transmitted to the solenoid electric lock 5, thereby unlocking the door. When the key is taken out and the door is closed, the door will be locked in automatic mode in structure. This construction makes it possible to eliminate operational errors and hence eliminate locking and unlocking failures.
