To provide a solenoid for a game machine capable of effectively making use of attracting force by eliminating movement blocking factors all over the stroke of a plunger between the entirely extracted position and the entirely retracted position thereof.
The inside surface of a through-hole 30 and the outward form of a plunger 26 are tapered equally in the variation of radial size respectively so that they confirm to each other in diameter when the plunger 26 is entirely retracted. As a result, when a coil 28is energized to retract the plunger 26, it meets little movement resistance in an area a little short of the entirely retracted position, in which area the attracting force is weak, so that it can be smoothly moved to the entirely retracted position and held there by strong attracting force.
