To provide a solid aromatic substance which extricates perfume ingredient stably over a long period of use time, is less in the change of aroma intensity or aroma tone and is stable and solid, and to provide a packed aromatic substance incorporated in a container.

The solid aromatic substance is obtained by impregnating a porous supporting body with the perfume ingredient with a gelatinizer to form a gel of the perfume ingredient in the porous supporting body. The packed aromatic substance is obtained by inserting the solid aromatic substance into the container having protrusions at its bottom and side wall part. The porous supporting body is made of felt or nonwoven fabric preferably.
