To provide a solid basic catalyst suitable for manufacturing a bio-diesel fuel (BDF) from raw material fats and oil, to provide a manufacturing method thereof, to provide a device for manufacturing BDF using the catalyst and to provide a manufacturing method of BDF.
The catalyst consists of calcium oxide having a particle size that does not pass a mesh textile of 1.0 mm apertures and passes the mesh textile of 10 mm apertures. The surface is modified to calcium diglyceroxide. The catalyst can be prepared by calcining crushed limestone with a predetermined particle size and then immediately dipping it into a C2 or C3 alcohol solution of glycerol at a temperature of 20-60C for 10-60 min. It is preferable that the catalyst is mixed with at least two types of dispersive mediums of a different particle size when used. The BDF with high quality can be manufactured by supplying a mixed solution having 70-150 pts.vol of methanol added per 100 pts.vol of the raw material plant oil to the reaction tube where the mixture is stored.
