Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new solid component useful for formation of a catalyst for polymerizing an olefin of the formula CH2=CHR (R is a 1-4C alkyl group or an aryl group) or the mixture of the olefin with ethylene and a catalyst formed from the component.
SOLUTION: This solid catalyst component contains an active type anhydrous Mg dihalide as an essential support, a Ti halide supported on the Mg dihalide and one or more silicone compounds of the formula RmSiYmXp [R is e.g. an alkyl; Y is e. g. OR' group [R' may be same as R or different from R); X is e.g. a halogen; (m) is 1-3; (n) is l-3; (p) is 0 or 1 and (m+n+p)=4] corresponding to a molar ratio of 0.1-5 mol to 1mol supported halogenated Ti compound.
