To maintain a longer effect of and to ensure a more uniform dispersion in flushing water of a cypress oil or hinokitiol added to a solid article for cleaning and deodorizing used in a flush toilet tank by blending a surfactant having an HLB of not less than 8.
This solid composition used by being put and submerged in a tank for cleaning, sterilizing and deodorizing a flush toilet is prepared by blending a cypress oil or hinokitiol, a surfactant having an HLB of not less than 8, a water-soluble polymer and a water-soluble solid fat at a room temperature. A polyoxyethylene lauryl ether exemplifies the surfactant and is used preferably in 10-70w/v% of total. The solid water-soluble fat can be an ethylene glycol, etc., and is used preferably in 30-50w/v% of total. The water-soluble polymer can be sodium polyacrylate, hyaluronic acid, or the like and is used preferably in 15-60w/v% of total. This blend gives a solid composition of which the organic component such as cypress oil does not evaporate during a long storage period and disperses uniformly in a flush water at the time of use.
