PURPOSE: To provide a solid dropping device which is simple in construction, is capable of automatically dropping the solids generated from sludge, is inexpensive, is not adversely affected by vibration and additionally improves the solid dropping work.
CONSTITUTION: Plural sheets of dehydrating plates which form suction spaces with filter plates as boundaries and form the open spaces on the other side as packing spaces for the sludge are arranged to face each other. These dehydrating plates are slid and guided by guiding tracks 10a, 10b. The dehydrating plates are pressed by pressurizing means, by which the dehydrating plates are hermetically press-bonded. The sludge, etc., are forcibly fed into the packing chambers by forcible feeding means and, simultaneously, the water is sucked out of the suction spaces by suction means. Second tracks 30a, 30b having projections 14 on which the dehydrating plates 1 can ride at the time of opening are installed separately from the guiding tracks 10. The device is provided with a lifting device for positioning the guiding tracks 30a, 30b downward with respect to the guiding surfaces 11 of the guiding tracks 10a, 10b at the time of closing and upward at the time of opening.
