The solid electrolytic capacitor includes a positive electrode element 11, a positive electrode lead 12 in close contact with an outer surface of the positive electrode element 11, a dielectric layer 13 formed on a surface of the positive electrode lead 12 and a negative electrode layer 15 formed on a surface of the dielectric layer 13. A plurality of openings are formed in the positive electrode lead 12 so as to pass through the positive electrode lead 12. Specifically, the positive electrode lead 12 is constituted of a metal plate having a plurality of through-holes and is in close contact with the outer surface of the positive electrode element 11 in a state that the plurality of through-holes are opened toward the positive electrode element 11.
