Title:
SOLID FUEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5653187
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: A solid fuel, capable of burning without emitting black smoke while controlling the burning rate, and comprising a porous inorganic carrier having a liquid absorption of a specific value or above, and a compound containing oxygen, e.g. an alcohol, a ketone or an ether, occluded therein.

CONSTITUTION: A solid fuel comprising (A) a porous inorganic carrier having a liquid absorption ≥1.5cc/g, preferably (a) gyrolite type petallike calcium silicate and/or (b) amorphous petallike silica, and (B) one or more types of compounds containing oxygen, e.g. an alcohol, a ketone, or an ether, such as methanol or methyl ethyl ketone, occluded therein. Preferably, the components (a) and (b) have an apparent specific volume of 5W25cc/g, a liquid absorption of 500W800cc/100g, a pore diameter of several hundreds to several thousands of and a pore volume ≥5cc/g. Examples of the components (a) and (b) are Florite R and Florite S-700 (trade name, manufactured by Tokuyama Soda KK).

EFFECT: A solid fuel of the same calorific value can be prepared even in a weight of half or less that of the conventional fuel.
