Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a soft feeling property at the time of a shot, and in addition, impart a sufficient spin performance of the ball, and improve an approach control property, and make it suitable especially for a player whose head speed is 40 m/sec or lower.
SOLUTION: In this golf ball wherein a cover is coated on a core, and a large number of dimples are formed on the surface of the ball, a warpage amount when a load of 100 kg is applied to the core is 3.5-5.5 mm, the surface hardness of the core is 70 or higher by the JIS-C hardness, and a difference in hardness between the surface and the center of the core is 10 or higher by the JIS-C hardness, and also when the effective contact area of the ball on the club face when the golf ball is hit by a head speed of 50 m/sec with a driver, is taken as A, and a virtual contact area of the ball is taken as B, the value of A/B is 0.40-0.60.
